Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and analyze problems faced by county officials and recommend effective courses of action.
2. Engage in outreach and committee work to enhance the effectiveness of county services in various legal domains.
3. Monitor compliance with legal standards among county personnel.
4. Represent the county in legal proceedings, including preparation of cases, legal research, and court appearances.
5. Review and negotiate contracts and legal documents for the county.
6. Conduct legal research and apply relevant laws in case preparation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Strong interpersonal skills.
2. Knowledge of civil, criminal, and juvenile law.
3. Proficiency in legal research methods.
4. Ability to organize and present facts effectively.
5. Negotiation skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited law school and possess a valid license to practice law in Minnesota. A valid driver's license is also required, along with the successful completion of a background investigation.

Working Environment:
This position may require significant effort during trials, appeals, and public meetings, along with travel for various legal and research activities.
