Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Youth Development and Education Professional to join our dynamic team at the RIT K-12 University Center. As an Outreach Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in implementing a portfolio of pre-college initiatives that cater to the needs of students from elementary to high school.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement engaging academic enrichment programs, including tutoring and mentorship services, to improve student performance and foster a love for learning.
- Develop and lead college readiness programs, field trips, and workshops that promote social-emotional learning, career exploration, and post-secondary education pathways.
- Collaborate with campus partners to design and deliver meaningful campus experiences for youth, including the RIT-Rochester Prep Charter High School Partnership and the Camp Tiger summer day camp.
- Provide individualized advisement and support to students, helping them navigate the college application process, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
- Represent RIT's Office of Pre-College Programs at various events, conferences, and community gatherings, promoting our mission and initiatives.
- Master's degree in Education, Youth Development, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with youth in educational settings, preferably in outreach and education roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel between sites, including RIT's Downtown Center and partner schools, with occasional overnights.
- Competitive salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year.
