OVERVIEW: This role entails executing a comprehensive range of responsibilities, utilizing the necessary methods and techniques to provide services to biological families, foster families, and adoptive families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties must be performed efficiently and within the timelines established by the agency policies and relevant regulatory bodies:

  1. Engage in significant interactions with agency personnel, clients, and various stakeholders.
  2. Work directly with children, biological families, foster families, adoptive families, and other pertinent individuals.
  3. Adhere to agency policies, COA regulations, and federal and state mandates.
  4. Maintain necessary training hours as mandated.
  5. Utilize agency resources effectively to enhance service delivery.
  6. Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of case records.
  7. Assist in the recruitment and retention of foster families as necessary.
  8. Provide crisis intervention services and be available for on-call duties as required.
  9. Child Protection Reporting: Responsible for reporting any suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with state laws.
  10. Participate in various appointments related to clients to ensure appropriate service delivery.
  11. Offer support and training regarding foster care policies as needed.
  12. Conduct thorough assessments of families and individuals to provide necessary services.
  13. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized case plans.
  14. Prepare and maintain clear documentation as per agency and state guidelines.
  15. Attend court hearings and provide accurate testimony regarding case progress.
  16. Facilitate transportation assistance for clients when appropriate.
  17. Conduct investigations in compliance with agency regulations.
  18. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Familiarity with agency operations and policies is preferred.
  2. Understanding of social welfare laws and policies is advantageous.
  3. Strong record-keeping and communication skills are essential.
  4. Knowledge of social work principles and practices is required.
  5. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
  6. Proficiency in navigating computer systems is expected.
  7. Ability to work independently is crucial.
  8. Demonstrate professionalism and emotional stability.
  9. Commitment to ongoing professional development is essential.
  10. Must not have any history of child abuse or neglect.
  11. Valid driver's license and compliance with driving insurability requirements are necessary.
  12. Must pass background checks as per agency standards.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant human services fields such as social work, psychology, or sociology is required, along with completion of all training requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

At least one year of experience in social services and completion of relevant training in foster care or adoption is preferred.
