OVERVIEW: This role entails executing a comprehensive range of responsibilities, utilizing the necessary methods and techniques to provide services to biological families, foster families, and adoptive families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties must be performed efficiently and within the timelines established by the agency policies and relevant regulatory bodies:
- Engage in significant interactions with agency personnel, clients, and various stakeholders.
- Work directly with children, biological families, foster families, adoptive families, and other pertinent individuals.
- Adhere to agency policies, COA regulations, and federal and state mandates.
- Maintain necessary training hours as mandated.
- Utilize agency resources effectively to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of case records.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of foster families as necessary.
- Provide crisis intervention services and be available for on-call duties as required.
- Child Protection Reporting: Responsible for reporting any suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with state laws.
- Participate in various appointments related to clients to ensure appropriate service delivery.
- Offer support and training regarding foster care policies as needed.
- Conduct thorough assessments of families and individuals to provide necessary services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized case plans.
- Prepare and maintain clear documentation as per agency and state guidelines.
- Attend court hearings and provide accurate testimony regarding case progress.
- Facilitate transportation assistance for clients when appropriate.
- Conduct investigations in compliance with agency regulations.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with agency operations and policies is preferred.
- Understanding of social welfare laws and policies is advantageous.
- Strong record-keeping and communication skills are essential.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices is required.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
- Proficiency in navigating computer systems is expected.
- Ability to work independently is crucial.
- Demonstrate professionalism and emotional stability.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development is essential.
- Must not have any history of child abuse or neglect.
- Valid driver's license and compliance with driving insurability requirements are necessary.
- Must pass background checks as per agency standards.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant human services fields such as social work, psychology, or sociology is required, along with completion of all training requirements.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
At least one year of experience in social services and completion of relevant training in foster care or adoption is preferred.
