Diagnostic Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and distribute test data to physicians for interpretation, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Perform a range of echocardiography procedures, including M-mode, 2-D echocardiogram, and cardiac Doppler, to diagnose and monitor cardiac conditions.
- Collaborate with cardiologists to evaluate and store data, facilitating comparative studies to assess patient status.
- Assist in the training and development of echo staff, ensuring competency and job-specific performance.
- Prepare preliminary reports for echo studies, pending final reports, to improve patient care and response times.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining equipment, inventory, and patient records.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an approved Cardiovascular training program preferred.
- One year of experience in all phases of echocardiography testing required.
- Strong basic medical knowledge, with emphasis on cardiac ultrasound and cardiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required; RCT registered or eligible preferred.
