Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound, utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform procedures according to departmental format, completing exam in allotted time.
- Perform required daily clerical duties, which include the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by Medical Center.
- Perform portable ultrasound exams.
- Perform a variety of complex technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound. Assist physicians with Ultrasound guided Interventional procedures, and color-flow ultrasound as required.
- Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, explain procedures, measures and position patients for each anatomical view.
- Evaluate technical quality of images. Obtain and process images of pathogenic conditions in accordance with standard procedures or techniques.
- Maintain records of ultrasound taken, archiving and de-archiving data as required. Calculate, compile, and record data from numerical readings on patient's charts and related documents.
- Calibrate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning. Clean and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment. Stock and replenish supplies as required.
- Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
- Greet all patients when they arrive for their exam utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
- Responsible for scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends. Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care. On call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.
- Adhere to the policies of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
- Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in ultrasound.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
