Job Title: Senior Accounting Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Specialist to join our team at Wyatt W. Underwood & Associates LLC. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for managing our financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in general ledger entries, and providing accounting support for all aspects of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage QuickBooks Online, recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with corporate filings, maintaining proper documentation, and filing corporate taxes, permits, and licenses.
- Understand and comply with California's prevailing wage requirements, submitting certified payrolls to the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
- Support our external CPA firm by providing necessary financial data, answering inquiries, and ensuring smooth year-end reporting and tax preparation.
- Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, and track expenses related to construction projects.
- Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure proper reporting and timely payment of wages, including compliance with California wage laws.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper in the construction industry.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and experienced in managing accounting systems.
- Understanding of California wage laws and Hourly Prevailing Wage compliance.
- Strong familiarity with sales tax reporting and corporate filings.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in communication tools like Slack, Asana, and Google Suite.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, self-motivated, and reliable.
