About the Role

We are seeking an Architectural Specialist to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing architectural solutions for our clients' business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural design on industrial projects, including semiconductor manufacturing, utility, and utility distribution facilities.
  • Define the scope and project program requirements based on the owner's master design standards and master specifications.
  • Provide technical overview of architectural, civil, and structural consultant deliverables from pre-design through construction design phases.
  • Conduct preliminary code research specific to the project site, program, and proposed use.
  • Partner with clients to develop initial programming and project scope.
  • Communicate with peer engineering disciplines to define project parameters.
  • Research material options or alternative building methods to deliver the optimal solution for the client.
  • Oversee preparation of plans and related documents for permit acquisition and construction.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety and IP training to comply with standard practices observing construction in hazardous occupancies, hazardous material handling facilities, cleanrooms, and IP-sensitive areas.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Architecture degree required.
  • Master of Architecture degree desired.
  • 7+ years of facilities architectural design experience with a proven ability to lead the facility design from the programming/concept phase through the production of construction documents, permit acquisition, and site implementation on multi-discipline projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, and in particular OSSC.
  • Architectural experience in the development and creation of construction documents for semi-conductor, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sector industries.
  • Knowledge/experience in design of both new greenfield facilities as well as renovations to existing buildings.
  • Knowledge/experience in design of ISO clean rooms, labs, and processing spaces.
  • Knowledge/experience evaluating structural and non-structural systems and applying seismic design concepts.
  • Knowledge/experience evaluating site planning and civil engineering design.
  • Experience in coordinating design with process engineers on industrial installations of production equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with our valued team members and clients.
  • Excellent computer skills including Autodesk suite software and Microsoft Office.
  • Registered Architect license required.
  • NCARB Certification desired.
