Are you prepared to influence the way millions of users interact with their cloud files daily? The Cloud File Providers team is on the lookout for a visionary leader to steer the development of our cloud storage infrastructure on user devices.
Our team is responsible for the FileProvider framework, which is built on the APFS filesystem and integrates various core technologies from Apple, supporting services such as iCloud Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.
As a pivotal figure in this organization, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams from these services, directly impacting their feature development and enhancing the reliability of our storage solutions for users.
Moreover, you will play a key role in the evolution of user experiences across all Apple platforms, focusing on document editing and fostering collaboration across applications and users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team of engineers while making decisions that influence multiple cross-functional partners.
- Stay engaged with the codebase, contributing to code reviews and risk evaluations.
- Represent your team and technology in cross-functional discussions, collaborating with various teams within Software, Services, and AI/ML sectors.
- Clarify requirements and objectives for cross-functional software initiatives.
- Plan a multi-year strategic roadmap and oversee the design, execution, and post-execution phases of software development.
- Mentor and develop some of the most talented engineers in the industry.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in engineering management.
- Proven ability to recruit, nurture, and retain skilled engineers.
- Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
- Desire to work within a diverse, global team, promoting collaboration and support among engineers.
- Solid understanding of operating systems fundamentals.
- Experience with API development and collaboration with API clients.
- Data-driven decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
