About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer, Business Excellence to join our team at Chick-fil-A Supply. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving process improvements across our supply chain, leveraging your expertise in lean six sigma and business finance acumen to optimize our operations and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and lead process optimization projects, driving efficiency and cost savings across the supply chain.
  • Lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping workshops, and other lean initiatives to standardize and drive better business practices.
  • Own high-visibility projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with senior leadership.
  • Track and report supply chain-wide cost out project progress, escalating barriers to senior leadership.
  • Assist operations in leveraging DMAIC and other problem-solving techniques to close gaps versus PQDCSM scorecard targets.
  • Utilize simulation software to analyze and improve work systems.
  • Conduct onboarding training for hourly and leadership positions, introducing the Center of Business Excellence department and its core systems and tools.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for capacity, process improvements, and standard time inquiries.
  • Provide coverage for the process engineering team, supporting the implementation of new distribution centers, capabilities, and onsite support.
  • Partner with the Change Management office to ensure vertical startups, project adoption, and reporting.
Requirements
  • 10 years of relevant business experience, with a focus on manufacturing or distribution centers.
  • 3 years of multi-site regional support, with supply chain-wide ownership of supply chain objectives.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Capital project experience, with review boards and integrated business planning exposure.
  • Strong business finance acumen, including EBITA, ROI, IRR, GL, and P&L.
  • Experience leading and driving successful large-scale projects and reporting.
  • 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, SMED, and process improvement project experience.
  • Business communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Tableau/Power BI proficiency.
  • Professional Project Management Certificate (PMP).
  • Change Management Certification.
