Job Summary

As a Medical Laboratory Technician at Bilkins Inc, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory analysis to support patient care and diagnosis. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance and Control
    • Adhere to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work areas, documenting corrective actions to any non-conforming events.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CAP, TJC, and OSHA.
  • Test Preparation and Execution
    • Prepare reagents and maintain an adequate supply of materials for test procedures.
    • Manage inventory to reduce departmental waste and expense.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication
    • Exercise clinical judgment in assessing priorities and identifying problems.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership regarding issues, concerns, and problems affecting patient care or department operations.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in competency assessment programs and staff meetings.
    • Contribute to the planning and implementation of changes through task forces or projects.

Physical and Educational Requirements

  • Work in a fast-paced clinical environment with biohazardous materials.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting light to moderately heavy loads.
  • Hold an ASCP registration as a Medical Technologist and a Bachelor's of Science degree.
  • Have a minimum of two to five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
