Biomedical Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Technician III to join our team at the University of California. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic trouble-shooting, repair, and maintenance of complex biomedical equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment, including ventilators, anesthesia machines, and ultrasound devices.
- Conduct acceptance inspections of new equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Coordinate vendor services for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
- Bachelor's degree in electronics or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in medical equipment repair and maintenance.
- Formal electronics education and training.
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Healthcare/Medical Center experience.
- On-the-job training in a medical facility.
- Expert judgment in decision-making in expedient situations.
- Working knowledge of regulating agencies codes and standards.
- AS in electronics.
- Equipment manufacturer's training certifications.
- AAMI CBET Certification.
- Network Certifications.
- Required to be part of the rotating on-call staff.
- Must be willing to travel for educational purposes.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $101,456 - $126,157 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $60.42
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
