PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The main objective of this role is to offer efficient engineering support to the sales team, which includes system design, preparing sales estimates, and executing project management tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with sales representatives and/or directly with clients to design and price systems. Engage with clients as necessary to ascertain precise requirements; formulate recommendations and create drawings adhering to established engineering standards.
  • Utilize CAD software to produce engineering drawings, including but not limited to process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment layouts, and general assembly schematics.
  • Gather necessary data, size equipment, prepare essential prints, estimate required resources, develop project costs, and prepare quotations. Present project proposals to clients and advocate for project sales.
  • Inform the Director of Engineering about the outcomes of presentations.
  • Upon project approval, provide essential documents to the Project Coordinator to initiate the job, procure necessary equipment and materials. Brief the Director of Engineering on project scope, review drawings, and discuss any critical issues or concerns regarding project installation. Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to schedule resources for project completion.
  • Deliver technical assistance to both internal and external sales teams, other staff members, and clients. Interpret and design large-scale sanitary manufacturing and cleaning processes.
  • Coordinate the allocation of shop and field/installation personnel, materials, and equipment for assigned projects. Align material purchases with the material account personnel.
  • Supervise major installations through regular site inspections. Ensure that projects are completed to client satisfaction and that all specified requirements are met. Issue change orders as necessary and update drawings accordingly. Provide documentation as requested by clients.
  • Be available for new process startups and checks as required.
  • Select material suppliers that best meet the specific needs of each application at the most competitive cost.
  • Assist clients during equipment failures to provide technical support and coordinate repairs.
  • Serve as a resource of knowledge and experience for junior engineering staff.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A four-year college degree (preferably in Engineering) or equivalent experience is required.
  • PREFERRED: Professional Licensed PE
  • Willingness to travel approximately 35% of the time
  • 3-5 years of relevant technical/engineering experience in the sanitary fluid process industry
