The Gordon Center is in search of several qualified Part-time Temporary Emergency Medical Services Educators to operate in Miami, FL. The role of the Emergency Medical Services Educator involves instructing and training medical personnel in specialized areas, adhering to relevant standards and regulations. Additionally, the incumbent evaluates the effectiveness of the courses offered and employs advanced skills and knowledge to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Evaluates the instructional requirements of the designated EMS programs.
  • Designs, assesses, and updates curriculum needs, and formulates and executes course syllabi to ensure the fulfillment of program objectives and requirements.
  • Maintains current licensure and expertise, staying informed about the latest developments in the field.
  • Ensures that course syllabi are updated to accurately reflect faculty expectations of students.
  • Provides students with up-to-date information regarding course prerequisites, grading criteria, assessments, and program policies.
  • Engages in meetings to support leadership's decision-making and share expertise with colleagues.
  • Administers, grades, and compiles assignments and examinations.
  • Disseminates information to students and prepares examinations and class presentations.
  • Creates a safe learning environment by encouraging students to utilize available support services, engage in collaborative activities, and participate in health science programs.
  • Secures necessary equipment, classrooms, tools, resources, and other relevant assets.
  • Adheres to FERPA standards applicable to public higher education institutions.
  • Assists in implementing recommendations from accrediting agencies.
  • Follows established clinical affiliation agreements with accredited clinical organizations.
  • Participates in the development, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of institutional effectiveness plans and measures.
  • Complies with University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Emergency Medical Services Educator Levels 1, 2, and 3

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Paramedic License; Certification in relevant specialty or field

Senior Emergency Medical Services Educator and Senior Emergency Medical Services Educator Level 2

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Paramedic License; Certification in relevant specialty or field

  • Ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Capability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively.
Compensation varies based on experience.
