We are a Colorado-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building economic and racial equity. Our mission is to confront economic abuse and invest in community wealth by using legal, economic, and advocacy tools to challenge and dismantle unjust systems.

Our Organization

The Community Economic Defense Project was launched in 2020 as the COVID-19 Eviction Defense Project. We have since expanded our services to include disaster response, predatory towing, debt collection, benefit access & navigation, long-term rental assistance, and homelessness response. Our team serves over 1,000 people per month, bringing together housing lawyers, economists, data analysts, policy-experts, organizers, and technologists to provide comprehensive support to our clients.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Case Manager to provide intensive case management to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and housing instability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work or a related field, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to serving vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough assessments to identify clients' strengths and needs, including substance misuse issues, mental health concerns, housing barriers, and other challenges affecting their well-being.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop detailed care plans that address their specific needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Connect clients with appropriate community resources, such as substance abuse treatment programs, mental health services, medical care, and vocational training.
  • Advocate for clients and ensure their rights and needs are respected and met.
  • Provide counseling and support to clients, helping them navigate challenges, build resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, or mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction principles, and evidence-based practices in substance abuse treatment and mental health.
  • Familiarity with community resources, housing programs, and support services for homeless individuals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality.
