We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at LewisGale Medical Center. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Respiratory therapy Degree- AAS or BS.
- One year of critical care experience.
- Previous experience with mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, and oximetry.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS and Basic Cardiac Life Support BCLS.
