Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee field operations and manage a team of skilled technicians.
- Interpret and execute project specifications and unique provisions.
- Assess and document construction activities effectively.
- Conduct sampling, testing, and ensure compliance of materials used in projects according to established standards.
- Prepare essential project documentation, including progress payments and modifications to contracts, to secure final project approval.
- Ensure that quality control measures are implemented for all assigned tasks and review the work of colleagues.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with design teams, clients, and relevant agencies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in construction inspection and layout staking.
- Possession of one or more DOT construction material certifications in areas such as Aggregate Production, Bituminous Plant, Bridge Construction, and Concrete Strength.
- Familiarity with state Department of Transportation regulations.
- Strong decision-making abilities, adaptability, commitment to quality, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CADD software (MicroStation preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying.
- Comprehensive understanding of DOT's consulting expectations.
- Experience in roadway design utilizing GEOPAK and MicroStation.
