Lead Skating Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Skating Instructor to join our team at the City of Lakeville, MN. As a key member of our ice rink staff, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing our Learn to Skate classes, providing instruction to participants of all ages and skill levels, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all skaters.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage Learn to Skate classes, including scheduling, staffing, and equipment management.
- Provide instruction to participants of all ages and skill levels, including group and private lessons.
- Monitor the well-being of all participants throughout skate lessons and ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Establish open and active communication with skating director, coaches, skating participants, parents, and arenas staff.
- Ensure program instruction is taught in accordance with the Learn to Skate USA progression program.
- Five (5) years of Learn to Skate instructor coaching experience preferred.
- Must have passed the skating level that you are assigned to instruct.
- Knowledge of all levels and facets of the United States Figure Skating (USFS), Ice Skating Institute (ISI), and Learn to Skate USA curriculum.
- PSA, USFSA, LTS USA, and/or ISA membership preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate all skills in the level that you would be assigned to teach.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Able to work weekend hours.
This is a seasonal position that requires working evenings and weekends, up to 10 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
