Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in our College of Nursing. The successful candidate will demonstrate academic excellence in instruction, scholarly work, and service, while fostering a culture of mutual respect and responsibility for student success.
Key Responsibilities- Teach graduate nursing courses, utilizing effective instructional strategies to engage students and promote learning.
- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans, integrating current evidence-based content and meeting accreditation standards.
- Maintain accurate student records, submitting grades in a timely manner.
- Participate in academic and professional development activities, including research, scholarship, and service to the nursing community.
- A current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- A current, unencumbered license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
- National certification (ANCC or AANP) in the area of Nurse Practitioner specialization.
- An earned doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- A demonstrated record of professional and clinical nursing experience, classroom instruction, clinical and/or academic research and publication, service to nursing, and scholarly development.
- At least 5 years' clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with expertise in adult or gerontologic nursing.
- Minimum 3 years' experience of classroom instruction, content and syllabi development, and the management of student performance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NTF criteria and the AACN Essentials for professional nursing education.
