Job Overview

This role is essential in supporting the Operations Department by ensuring that production machinery functions at optimal levels. The position is responsible for maintaining the facilities in accordance with established company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance checks; perform safety compliance evaluations and keep detailed records of production machinery.
  • Guide and train staff on equipment start-up protocols and operational procedures.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Maintain the company’s facilities, including both buildings and surrounding areas, to meet company standards.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety Procedures to ensure the production of safe in-process products.
  • Assist in the procurement of parts and manage inventory levels.
  • Possess familiarity with Reverse Osmosis systems, water softening technology, and data logging protocols.
  • Experience with wastewater management and compliance with relevant operational standards is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in stainless steel TIG welding is preferred, particularly for sanitary piping in food production environments.
  • Understand Lockout-Tagout procedures.

We prioritize the safety of our personnel, equipment, and systems. This includes the safe operation and maintenance of various machinery such as forklifts, exhaust systems, laboratory equipment, conveyor systems, automated packaging, bottling, canning, mixing systems, and coffee processing equipment. Knowledge of safety protocols for electric eyes, limit switches, and touch screen interfaces is essential.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems within a Food/Beverage setting.
  • Knowledgeable about FDA manufacturing standards (GMPs) required for beverage production and adherence to Quality Assurance protocols.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits (both control and power) ranging from 12 volts to 3-phase 460 volts, including troubleshooting motors, pneumatic switches, relays, and transformers. Experience with Variable Frequency Drives and their configuration is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with industrial compressors, plumbing for water, and compressed air systems is also beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with steam boilers, heat exchangers, and related steam equipment is required.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities are essential.
  • A mechanical aptitude is necessary.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and electronics is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems effectively.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
