Job Title: Supply Chain Distribution Planner

At Promega, we are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Distribution Planner to join our Materials Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing forecasts, managing inventory, and planning the replenishment of products from our production facilities to international branches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the planning, scheduling, and coordination of replenishment shipments to Distribution Centers to maintain fill rate targets.
  • Develop and evaluate demand planning requirements based on historical sales, sales and marketing input, product life cycle, seasonality, and promotional activity.
  • Own master data accuracy for inventory levels and replenishment strategies.
  • Identify obsolete, slow-moving, or short shelf-life materials and implement processes to reduce and minimize scrap costs.
  • Coordinate with production planning at manufacturing locations to expedite manufacturing when needed and communicate to customer service when items will be ready for shipment.
  • Investigate and understand the causes of late orders and take actions to prevent future late orders.
  • Report fill rate, inventory turns, and scrap metrics to leadership.
  • Facilitate communications between Distribution Centers, Customer Service, Shipping, Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, Import Compliance, and other areas as needed.
  • Participate in departmental and cross-departmental process improvement projects.
  • Follow and update department SOPs and localized Distribution Center-specific planning processes.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain related field and 3-5 years of experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of demand and supply strategies, planning concepts, distribution, and production planning.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demand, distribution, or production planning experience working through an ERP System.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with both domestic and international personnel.
  • Proven mathematic and/or analytical skills demonstrated through educational or professional background.
  • APICS certified or working towards certification.
  • Good understanding of EXCEL (VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables, graphs, etc.).
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to spend long hours in front of a computer screen.
  • Ability to travel.
