Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Integrated Absence Claims Specialist to enhance our expanding claims department.

As an Integrated Absence Claims Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to oversee a portfolio of Short-Term Disability claims and their related leaves.

Your duties will include conducting initial and ongoing interviews with claimants, acquiring and assessing medical documentation, and making timely and ethical decisions regarding claims.

You will undergo comprehensive training to develop essential skills and build the confidence necessary for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities


Engaging with claimants, employers, and various healthcare professionals via phone and email to collect information pertinent to Short-Term Disability Claims, Family Medical Leaves, and applicable state benefits.

Collaborating with fellow case managers, nurse case managers, and consulting physicians to ensure timely and appropriate claim resolutions.

Analyzing complex medical records and effectively utilizing a variety of tools and resources to determine suitable approval durations and future action plans.

Executing precise financial calculations in accordance with company and state regulations.

Delivering exceptional customer service while proactively identifying customer needs and potential areas for improvement.


Qualifications

Essential Requirements:
High School diploma or GED

1-2 years of experience in claims, leaves, or customer service

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in disability and/or absence management

Strong numerical skills for payment calculations

Compensation:
$32.45


Actual base pay may vary based on non-discriminatory factors such as work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency, and qualifications necessary for the role.

The base pay is just one aspect of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees.

Additionally, the role may qualify for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit, and individual.

Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives, and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
