Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Clinic RN is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and service. As a Float RN, you will work collaboratively with Clinic Team Supervisors to coordinate and facilitate the completion of work required to provide exceptional patient care and service.
Key Responsibilities- Promote a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and mutual respect among all coworkers.
- Coordinate with Clinic Team Supervisors and Clinic Manager to identify and address opportunities to improve patient care and service.
- Assist with gathering and delivering information to team members in accordance with patient-centered medical home huddles.
- Triage patients in person and via telephone.
- Assist providers with special tests and procedures within the standard scope of practice.
- Prepare medical treatment rooms and set up patient care equipment.
- Complete records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
- Keep supplies ready by ensuring exam rooms are stocked with proper supplies.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
- Prepare patients for tests or treatments.
- Use sanitation practices in healthcare settings.
- Support patient care delivery by helping healthcare providers during examinations, preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests on the premises, disposing of contaminated supplies appropriately, sterilizing medical instruments, administering medications on the premises, drawing blood, preparing patients for x-rays, taking electrocardiograms, removing sutures, changing dressings, scheduling referrals/outside diagnostics/testing appointments, administering immunizations/vaccines, maintaining vaccine records, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Record medical history or data, confirm purpose of visit or treatment, and verify patient information.
- Weigh patients and take vital signs.
- Educate patients by providing necessary information and instructions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Manage the care of patients in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and members of the healthcare team in order to make decisions about treatment and to attain health goals.
- Assume self-responsibility for all direct patient care activities within scope of practice.
- Make operational decisions as appropriate in the absence of the Clinic Manager or Clinic Team Supervisor.
- Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Nebraska.
- Certified - Basic Life Support.
- 1 year clinic experience preferred.
- Computer skills required.
- Electronic medical record experience preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and ability to meet deadlines.
- Attentive to detail, quality, and accuracy.
- Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interrelate with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
