Nurse Infusion Specialist

As a Nurse Infusion Specialist at Catholic Health Initiatives, you will have the opportunity to provide professional nursing care for patients undergoing non-chemo and chemo infusions and injections, insertion of mid-lines and peripherally inserted central catheters. You will apply your knowledge of current treatment modalities to patient care, administering infusions/injections, testing and line insertions according to institutional policy, standards, and guidelines.
Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, collaborates with other specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassesses as per policy, including adult and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
Assesses and reassesses pain and pain management techniques utilized, educating the patient and family regarding pain management.
Maintains medical equipment, including cleaning/disinfecting equipment, stretcher, etc. after use.
Answers telephone calls in a professional manner, refers patient problems to office/clinic physician, and schedules patient appointments.
Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation, including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity, identifying and addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Chemo Certification within 6 months.
