Job Title: Director of Behavioral Health Services

Join Madera County, CA as we seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Behavioral Health Services department. As the Director of Behavioral Health Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive systems of care for mental health and substance use disorder prevention, intervention, and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer large and complex budgets to allocate limited resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provide administrative and professional leadership for the department, including supervision of management, supervisory, professional, and technical personnel.
  • Interpret, apply, explain, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the work of management, supervisory, professional, and technical personnel, delegate authority and responsibility.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods, procedures, and techniques.
  • Effectively administer special projects with contractual agreements and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Represent the County and the department in meetings with governmental agencies, contractors, vendors, and various businesses, professional, regulatory, and legislative organizations.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mental health or substance use disorder services, with at least 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices, including goal setting, program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to operate a motor vehicle to visit various County and meeting sites.
