Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer III to join our team at The Westin Washington DC Downtown. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and problem-solving.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and vocational or technical background.
  • At least 2 years of experience in hotel engineering/maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in general maintenance, electrical, or refrigeration.
  • Parts inventory and requisition experience.
  • Exterior and interior surface preparation and painting experience.
