Job Summary

The Head Lifeguard will oversee the pool area, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patrons and staff. This part-time position requires a maximum of 29 hours per week and does not offer benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain pool safety standards, adhering to American Red Cross guidelines.
  • Supervise lifeguard staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations.
  • Conduct water chemical tests and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with training and in-service training for lifeguard personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director.
Requirements
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Previous experience as a lifeguard, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

The Head Lifeguard will be a team player, working collaboratively with the Sports and Fitness team and the JCC Professional Staff. They will be expected to provide exceptional customer service, maintain a positive attitude, and adhere to the JCC Mission Statement.
