About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Neurophysiologist Fellow to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco. As a key member of our Department of Neuromonitoring, you will play a critical role in providing intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) services to patients undergoing surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality IONM services to patients undergoing surgery, including cortical and subcortical mapping, spinal cord and nerve root monitoring, and other neurophysiological procedures.
  • Collaborate with neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in IONM techniques and technologies, including multimodality monitoring and language mapping.
  • Participate in educational programs and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in IONM.
  • Contribute to the development of new IONM protocols and procedures to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in physical science, life science, or clinical allied health profession (Ph.D., M.D., D.O., D.C., Au.D., or D.Pt.)
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in IONM software and hardware
  • Literacy and fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) within 6 months of starting the fellowship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework in anatomy, electrophysiology, neuroscience, and/or medicine
  • Experience with research methodology and scientific publications
  • Potential to qualify for DABNM after meeting experience prerequisites
  • Language mapping or neuropsychological testing experience
