About The Role
As a Senior Manager of Operations, you will report directly to the Director of Operations and oversee all culinary and production operations, including ingredient preparation, cooking, plating, and packaging on the East Coast. This position demands close collaboration with the Director to drive scaling and continuous enhancement of our operational processes.
This role requires a high degree of adaptability, ingenuity, and an entrepreneurial mindset to innovate our operations and cultivate a strong team.

Key Responsibilities
- Champion excellence in Culinary and Production operations.
- Within Culinary and Production, plan, organize, and optimize kitchen, plating, and packaging functions for all shifts; schedule and assign team members based on throughput targets and anticipated demand to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Ensure all KPIs related to cost, quality, credits, and on-time-in-full (OTIF) are achieved in alignment with Thistle's operational objectives.
- Identify and implement best practices utilizing lean manufacturing principles to enhance overall efficiency and quality.
- Research, select, and integrate new equipment and technologies to transform operations.
- Develop, implement, and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and discipline, while iterating and adjusting processes and training in anticipation of growth.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, high performance, accountability, and safety; ensure appropriate team recognition and facilitate learning opportunities for all employees by exemplifying behavior aligned with company Core Values.
- Support accountability through effective and timely training, guidance, feedback, and motivational corrective actions.
- Assist in internal and external audits; collaborate with the QA Director to ensure proper training, compliance, and enforcement of all company policies, including food safety and relevant regulations.
- Review all incidents or safety concerns with Supervisors, collaborating with the Safety Committee to conduct regular hazard audits and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and all applicable employment laws and regulations.
What You'll Bring
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a fast-paced food production, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Proven track record of setting and achieving ambitious KPI goals related to cost, quality, and productivity.
- Experience in building new systems and scaling operations for rapid growth.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a demonstrated ability to motivate, support, and provide constructive feedback to team members at all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, including 5-S, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis, with clear examples of successful process improvements.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred but not mandatory) to manage a multilingual workforce.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a preference for experience in digital communication tools.
- A tech-savvy approach to daily tasks and communication; familiarity with G-Suite and Slack is advantageous.
- Ability to effectively lead and facilitate cross-functional teams.
Compensation
- The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000, reflecting the company's good faith minimum and maximum range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including experience, qualifications, and location.
