Job Title: Construction Quality Control Manager

Job Summary:

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Construction Quality Control Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our construction projects, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project-specific quality control plans to ensure compliance with federal regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any quality control issues, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure that all quality control requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain quality control reports, including daily reports, weekly reports, and final reports, to ensure that all quality control activities are documented and tracked.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams and subcontractors on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Identify and address any quality control issues, including non-conformances, and develop corrective action plans to ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment received for the project are in conformance with approved submittals and are handled and stored appropriately.
  • Verify that all code and independent inspections are scheduled, coordinated, and documented, and that all non-conformances are corrected and re-inspected prior to covering up work.
  • Review as-built drawings to ensure that they are current and that deviations from contract drawings are addressed.
  • Review Job Site Safety Plan to ensure that a hazard analysis has been approved prior to the performance of a specific feature of work during the preparatory phase of control, and that safety measures are in place during the initial phase of control, and conduct safety inspections during the follow-up phase of control.
  • Stop work; reject materials and/or equipment; and direct the removal and replacement of any work not in compliance with contract documents, applicable codes, building standards, and/or established principles of construction engineering, or activities which present life-threatening conditions or damage to the site.
  • Communicate and interact as a team member with all trades, manufacturers, suppliers, construction staff, and customer representatives, in a professional manner.
  • Must have an Uncompromising Commitment to Safety.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager in Federal construction OR a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Current OSHA 30; First Aid/CPR; and USACE Construction Quality Control Management certifications; or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with USACE RMS CM and EM.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal); and ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors (among others).
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to pass all required contract security requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to sites that are under construction, which may include various weather conditions.
  • Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or miles from the assigned office location.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

    • Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
    • Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
    • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach.
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
