We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician II to join our team at Volunteers of America Colorado. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of all VOA facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and well-maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and grounds, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, and janitorial tasks.
- Identify and address safety-related issues that present a possible hazard to clients, employees, facilities, or the public.
- Assist in monitoring apartment make-ready schedules to ensure timely rent-ready units.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual preventive maintenance to ensure facilities are well-maintained and compliant with agency standards.
- Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly manner, adhering to agency standards.
- Attend meetings and staff development activities as assigned, demonstrating a teamwork orientation.
- Maintain proper work order procedures and related documentation according to Volunteers of America guidelines.
- Responsible for maintaining exceptional building and grounds curb appeal.
- Carry out after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency coverage as scheduled.
- Act as a mentor to Maintenance Technician I.
- Inventories building supplies.
- Predictable, consistent attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of previous maintenance technician experience.
- Knowledge of all hand and power tools and their uses.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License, insurance verification, and good driving record.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with residents and employees.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in building maintenance or trade school certificate.
- CFC certifications desired.
- CAMT certification desired.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Some work-related travel may be required.
- Must be capable of using an extension ladder to make repairs as needed.
- Must be able to perform emergency maintenance.
- Bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, crouching, squatting, lifting (30 to 50 pounds), balancing, standing, sitting, hand/foot motions, walking, seeing (close and distant vision, detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, assess, estimate), depth perception, hearing/listening, speaking/shouting (communicate, discern, convey, express, exchange), use of hands/fingers (grasping, holding, touching), thinking, calculating, memory/recall, exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
