Position Summary:

The Construction Project Coordinator will support the Project Manager in ensuring that construction plans adhere to established guidelines and specifications. The Project Coordinator and Project Manager will collaborate closely to achieve successful project outcomes.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Entry-level position ideal for recent graduates with a 4-year degree in Construction Management or those with 2 years of relevant construction experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Capable of using an iPad, phone, and email effectively.
  • Adaptable to the needs of the organization and its employees.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
  • Excellent listening skills to effectively receive feedback from team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interactions with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
  • Committed to adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • A collaborative team player who is self-assured, motivated, and independent.
  • Possesses strong team-building, interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a solid work ethic.
  • Background check and valid Driver's License required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and schedules.
  • Document minutes from safety and production meetings as assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and the 3-week look-ahead process.
  • Maintain comprehensive control of all project documentation and update records as necessary.
  • Assist the Project Manager with applications, contracts, cost estimates, and change orders.
  • Track, record, and monitor all Requests for Information (RFIs), drawing changes, directives, etc.
  • Aid the project team in preparing monthly reports.
  • Coordinate the review process for shop drawings and submittals.
  • Capture regular progress photos and update weekly job reports.
  • Understand and promote the overall safety culture of the organization.
  • Learn meeting processes and accurately record and distribute meeting minutes and notes as required.
  • Assist in completing the punch list.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a full-time role with typical hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential evening and weekend work as required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • The role may involve physical activity.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear; frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and navigate construction sites safely.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary and visit multiple job sites.
  • Expected to maintain a clean and safe work area.

Relationships:

  • Reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
  • Interacts with staff and leadership, representing the company.
