About This Role

This position is a great opportunity to work as a clinician and provide direct patient care with other healthcare professionals as they relate to outpatient medical care at one of our four clinics. The clinician will adhere to the adequacy and appropriateness of medical care provided to clinic patients. Represents clinic health services in community relationships and provides assistance in the growth of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities

Based on 40 hours per week, with Saturday rotation. One weekday off in lieu of the Saturday worked. The clinician will be responsible for:
  • Providing primary medical care to patients for acute and chronic problems and preventative health needs.
  • Communicating and collaborating with other primary care providers, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, specialists, ancillary care providers, mental health professionals, medical assistants, administrative staff, and other members of the medical care team to optimize care coordination for patients in primary care panel.
  • Providing on call coverage for after-hours phone advice as a member of the pool.
  • Completing medical documentations on all patient encounters in a timely fashion consistent with Primary Care Services policies.
  • Complying with all clinic policies, procedures and guidelines designed to ensure the provision of adequate, comprehensive care.
  • Collaborating with the Medical Director and Clinic Management team to meet and improve patient outcome and quality of care.
  • Working with the Medical Director and Clinic Management team to collaborate on policies, standards and specific patient problems.
  • Supervising midlevel practitioners.
  • Serving as a member of the organized medical staff, attending medical staff meetings and ensuring adherence to the medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of educational programs with the clinic staff and the community.
  • Participating in performance improvement and patient experience programs.
  • Following Hospital and Department policies and procedures at all times, including but not limited to: Administrative Manual, Environment of Care, Human Resources, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance, Code of Ethics, etc.
  • Attending, actively participating and completing in-services, training classes, mandatory classes, seminars/workshops, staff meetings, exercises and drills; reading all department communication and assigned materials.
  • Providing excellent customer service and showing compassion to all patients, visitors and co-workers. Seeking feedback to ensure all needs are met. Anticipating and recognizing the concerns of others, even if those concerns are not openly expressed.
  • Accepting and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Completed an accredited residency program, be board certified or eligible (if within one year of residency graduation) in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine.
  • Possess and maintain a valid California medical license to practice medicine in the State of California.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
  • BLS certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Computer skills needed for Electronic Medical Records.
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) preferred. Additional languages a plus.
  • Administrative experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of community resources and cultural needs.
Physical Requirements

The clinician will be required to:
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, and move 50% of the day.
  • Use proper body mechanics when handling equipment.
Compliance Requirements

The clinician will be expected to comply with Chinese Hospital Compliance Handbook including Code of Ethics and all statutes, regulations, guidelines applicable to federal and state programs. Responsibilities include, following the guidelines and reporting suspected violations of any statute, regulations, agreements or guidelines applicable to all healthcare programs.

Compensation

The starting salary for this position is $176,320- $274,165 per year. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
