Psychiatric Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our team at PAGNY. As a member of our Mental Health Service, you will provide high-quality, team-based psychiatric services to individuals incarcerated in the New York City jail system.
Responsibilities:- Provide psychopharmacologic interventions and other psychiatric care to patients in need of mental health treatment.
- Participate in the creation of individualized treatment plans and evaluate patients for the need for a higher level of care, including hospitalization.
- Provide patient education and counseling, including in group settings.
- Document all activities in the electronic medical record in a timely and concise manner.
- Collaborate with other disciplines, including security staff, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Bachelor's Degree and certification as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
- At least 3 years of hospital or outpatient clinical experience as a PA in Behavioral Health.
- Advanced knowledge of psychopathology, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy.
