We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our team at PAGNY, a leading provider of healthcare services in New York City. As a member of our Correctional Health Services team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals incarcerated in the NYC jail system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric care, including admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent consultations to individuals with mental health needs.
- Participate in the creation of individualized treatment plans, collecting and reviewing psychosocial data, medical history, nursing assessment, and other pertinent information.
- Evaluate patients for the need for a higher level of care, including hospitalization, and escalate care when clinically appropriate.
- Provide patient education on medication and treatment adherence, as well as aftercare services.
- Document all activities in the electronic medical record in a timely, concise, and clear manner.
- Bachelor's Degree and State of New York Certified Physician's Assistant certification.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistant.
- At least 3 years of hospital or outpatient clinical experience as a PA in Behavioral Health.
