Role Summary
The Senior Vice President of Engineering is a vital leadership position within Utilidata, tasked with driving the design and development of our distributed AI platform. This role involves leading a team of skilled developers, collaborating with senior management, and reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. We are looking for candidates who are collaborative, flexible, and motivated by a strong mission.


Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor a diverse team of developers to cultivate a culture of teamwork and innovation.
  • Formulate and oversee release strategies to effectively deliver product functionalities.
  • Align engineering projects with corporate goals in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Ensure software security measures are upheld in conjunction with the IT & Cybersecurity Director.
  • Provide strategic direction for development initiatives and resolve technical challenges.
  • Review and enhance technical documentation for clarity and consistency.
  • Attract and retain exceptional talent in partnership with the Human Resources team.
  • Optimize resource distribution for effective project execution.
  • Establish performance metrics and report on team achievements.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as necessary.

Essential Qualifications
  • 10-15+ years of experience in leading large-scale software development initiatives.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage software development teams.
  • Experience in scaling software solutions within a startup context.
  • Knowledge of IoT and embedded software technologies.
  • Expertise in full-stack development and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality solutions on schedule and within budget.
