Baker Tilly US, LLP, a leading advisory, tax, and assurance firm, is seeking a highly skilled Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credits Manager to join our growing Federal Credits & Incentives practice.
Our R&D Tax Credits practice is comprised of professionals across the United States, who work with clients to develop an efficient and cost-effective approach for identifying and documenting eligible R&D activities and costs. Our team has assisted clients in various industries to identify, document, and sustain federal and state R&D credits through a comprehensive understanding of their business operations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), owners, and leaders from middle-market companies to help them increase cash flow, reduce tax liability, and optimize investment in new technology.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic R&D tax credits consulting services to middle-market clients, including managing research and development (R&D) tax credit and deduction studies, researching and drafting technical memoranda related to R&D matters, and providing audit defense assistance for clients being audited by the IRS or state taxing authorities.
- Assisting with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensuring client profitability targets are met.
- Utilizing your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community.
- Investing in your professional development individually and through participation in firm-wide learning and development programs.
- Supporting the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field.
- CPA, JD, or EA certification.
- Five (5) + years of R&D work experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring, and counseling associates.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects.
For California, Colorado, New York, and Washington, the compensation range for this role is $97,420 to $211,090. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
