Research Engineer I

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Engineer I to join our team in the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Lauren Stewart, a renowned expert in blast engineering, mechanical shock & impact, hazards engineering, and computational mechanics.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research projects related to energy dissipation, concrete structures, and/or blast/impact loading.
- Support graduate students in their research and organize undergraduate student workers.
- Produce high-quality reporting documents and publications related to research.
- Assist in proposal writing for grants and contracts.
- Support laboratory organization and scheduling.
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required. A Master's Degree is preferred, and experience in designing and conducting large-scale structural experiments is highly desirable.
