About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Engineer/Scientist to join our team at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the field of biomedical engineering, with a focus on image-based computational design and 3D biomaterial printing for patient-specific devices and regenerative medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop PEGDA hydrogels for biologic delivery for soft tissue and cartilage reconstruction
  • Regenerate cartilage and soft tissue for head and neck reconstruction applications
  • Regenerate fat tissue for breast reconstruction applications
  • Perform mechanical testing and modeling of biological tissues, including cartilage and adipose tissue
  • Focus on 3D printing technologies, including laser sintering and nozzle-based 3D printing
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related area (for Research Scientist/Engineer I)
  • A Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related area, and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
  • A Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related area, and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering or related area (for Research Scientist/Engineer II)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 3D printing
