Position Overview:

The Principal Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and its military collaborators by leveraging specialized knowledge in various technical domains. Key focus areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Mechatronics and Systems Design
  • Software Engineering, particularly for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) mission planning and control
  • Aerospace Systems with a focus on testing and evaluation
  • RF Engineering, emphasizing signal propagation and processing
  • Space Enabled Cyberspace Operations (SECO)
  • Computer Network Operations (CNO)
  • Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) system architecture

This role is crucial for facilitating rapid Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) efforts to develop Concepts of Operations (CONOP) on an operationally relevant timeline. The selected candidate will assist military partners in identifying vulnerabilities within threat networks and guide the development of technological solutions to address these vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Engage with external organizations, including National Labs and the Intelligence Community, to evaluate threats and conduct systems analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings to customers and upper management.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Secret with TS/SCI eligibility accepted
  • TS/SCI preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a minimum of 12 years of professional experience, or 20 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field (Mechanical, Aerospace, RF, or Systems Engineering) with 10-13 years of pertinent work experience.
  • Expertise in project management and/or testing and evaluation.
  • Experience with Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and/or military clientele.
