Government Contracts Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled Government Contracts Attorney to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a Government Contracts Attorney, you will play a critical role in advising our contracts and subcontracts groups, as well as our mission areas, on federal government contracting policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide legal advice on federal government contracting policies and regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Review and provide legal advice on standard government contracting documents, including requests for proposals, prime contracts, subcontracts, flow downs, contract clauses, grants, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, and teaming agreements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks and design mitigation strategies or company-wide action plans.
- Provide legal advice on organizational conflicts of interest and personal conflicts of interest, particularly as they pertain to government contracting.
- Work closely with our intellectual property and export control teams to resolve contractual concerns.
- Represent APL to outside agencies and entities, and provide focused training to both enterprise and programs/projects relative to contract-related matters.
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to practice, and a minimum of 3 years of legal experience in federal government contracts.
- Substantive knowledge of federal government contracting policies and some experience related to government contractor ethics.
- Experience reviewing and providing legal advice on standard government contracting documents.
- Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal principles into practical business solutions.
- Ability to obtain an interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
