Job Summary:

As a Heavy Equipment Field Technician at Ohio CAT, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment, engines, and drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems, from a company service truck, in the field, often times at customer job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining engines and/or heavy equipment components, such as torque convertors, final drives, undercarriage, hydraulic pumps, and much more.
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex technical issues with heavy equipment and engines.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring timely completion of repairs.
  • Staying up-to-date with manufacturer updates and technical training to ensure proficiency in the latest technologies.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College and/or continued education in a technical field are a plus.
  • Experience related to construction or heavy equipment service and repair is required, preferably with Caterpillar equipment.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Ohio CAT standards.
  • Strong technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience with construction or heavy equipment required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling.
  • Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines.
  • Dexterity Normal.
  • Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
