General Summary: This role encompasses the complete financial aid lifecycle, guiding students from their initial enrollment through to their degree completion.

Requirements:
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience, particularly in financial aid or a related field. Preference will be given to those with extensive experience in a highly automated financial aid office within a similar institution.

Skills and Abilities: The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and effective communication skills. They should be comfortable addressing groups and have the capacity to relate well to students and their families. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to engage with diverse cultures and backgrounds. Proficiency in office equipment and software is required.

Physical Requirements: The position is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods.

Duties:
  • Engage with students through various communication channels to discuss financial aid eligibility and application processes.
  • Provide detailed information regarding financial aid programs, costs, and financial planning tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering presentations on federal financial aid, scholarships, and grants to various groups.
  • Analyze system-generated reports and communicate changes in financial aid eligibility to students.
  • Perform daily tasks including loan certification preparation, document management, and responding to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with students, lenders, and other stakeholders to resolve financial aid issues.
  • Participate in outreach and training initiatives as needed.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Clearances: Successful candidates will be required to obtain current criminal record and child abuse clearances as part of the employment process.
