Position Overview:

This role serves as a key advisor to Chief Information Officers and other IT executives throughout the procurement and category management process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate substantial cost reductions within the IT outsourcing sector by leveraging various strategies that enhance value.
  • Establish and execute best practices within the IT procurement category.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives and formulate supplier negotiation tactics that optimize expenditure, enhance service quality, and mitigate risk.
  • Oversee intricate negotiations with major suppliers, ensuring key terms are negotiated effectively while collaborating with stakeholders from legal, risk management, and other departments to draft and finalize contracts.
  • Advance the maturity of the sourcing model by incorporating industry best practices and adapting to operational changes.
  • Coordinate with the sourcing delivery team to manage high-volume contracts and allocate projects in alignment with the category strategy.
  • Utilize procurement technology to streamline the entire procurement lifecycle.
  • Manage strategic relationships with category suppliers.
  • Oversee both new and existing contracts, driving adherence to standards and best practices for assigned expenditures.
  • Assess and onboard new suppliers that offer innovative, cost-effective, or disruptive solutions.
  • Proactively manage category performance by meeting internal savings targets and reviewing financial models for commodity items.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, with relevant experience preferred.
  • An advanced degree in procurement, supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, particularly within the IT outsourcing domain.
  • Proven success in procurement, with extensive experience in developing and implementing category strategies and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, capable of addressing complex problems.
  • Experience in conducting market analysis and intelligence gathering to support effective strategy formulation.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and knowledge of best practices in contracting.
  • Excellent relationship management abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with senior leadership across various functions.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Coupa is a plus.
  • Experience in IT delivery and project management is beneficial.
