The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment on campus by enforcing university policies and regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good physical fitness is essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong reasoning skills for public interaction.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods (95% of the time) while performing duties.
Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas of the campus to uphold university regulations.
  • Collaborate with other campus departments to protect individuals and property.
  • Be prepared to work various shifts, document incidents, and engage with the public courteously and professionally.
  • Screen all incoming vehicles for compliance with parking regulations.
  • Determine the purpose of entry for visitors without parking decals and guide them to obtain a visitor's pass.
  • Verify student identification for entry when dropped off by a vehicle without a decal.
  • Monitor vehicles at information booths for illegal substances, alcohol, weapons, and other prohibited items.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
