Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Technologist to join our team at Sonic Healthcare USA. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for performing moderate and high complexity clinical sample testing within our Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily laboratory testing and analyze, review, and report test results.
  • Maintain proficiency on a wide variety of molecular methods and technologies.
  • Assist in training of personnel and competency assessments.
  • Conduct general laboratory operations, including maintaining a neat work area, attending meetings, and complying with laboratory procedures and safety practices.
  • Analyze, review, and report test and quality control results, and take remedial action when indicated.
  • Enter and verify data within the clinical LIMS system.
  • Perform, enter, and maintain Quality Control assessments and data.
  • Monitor laboratory data systems, conduct statistical metric analysis.
  • Perform and document reagent Quality Control verification.
  • File documentation associated with daily production runs.
Requirements
  • S. degree in Medical Technology or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science.
  • Three years of pertinent laboratory experience.
  • New York State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Histocompatibility, and/or Molecular.
  • Preferred: A minimum of one year laboratory training or experience or both in a clinical laboratory performing high complexity testing in a CLIA setting.
  • Experience in NGS testing, preferably using ThermoFisher platforms.
