We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Radiographer III to join our team at Stony Brook University. As a key member of our Radiology Diagnostic Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and technical expertise in diagnostic imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Administer diagnostic exams, position and transfer patients, and provide immobilization devices as needed.
- Select and operate equipment, ensuring proper technical factors are applied to each patient.
- Assist physicians in administering opaque media and delegate areas of authority in routine or special procedures.
- May be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the school of technology and ancillary personnel.
- Act as acting supervisor in the absence of the supervisor or senior technologist.
- Perform first aid as necessary, practice sterile techniques, and prevent cross-contamination.
- Conduct periodic quality control tests and participate in research in required specialty.
- Teach radiology students or hospital personnel established procedures and operation of equipment.
- New York State Department of Health Licensed in Radiology Technology.
- ARRT Certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- IV Contrast Injection Certification within the 12-month probationary period.
- Hospital experience.
- Competitive salary range: $84,303 - $106,917 Base.
- Additional $3,400 for location.
- Shift differentials for Night ($15,000) & Evening ($10,000) as well as $575 for inconvenience for positions not on day shift.
