Position Summary

The Expeditor plays a crucial role in the restaurant by ensuring that food is prepared and presented according to the established standards. This position involves delivering meals and other items to guests in a timely, professional, and friendly manner, ensuring that the quality and presentation meet company expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and present prepared dishes according to order specifications, ensuring proper garnishing and cleanliness of plates.
  • Utilize an automated order management system to maintain guest orders.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring they are served at the correct temperature and in an appealing manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to foster a supportive work environment.
  • Serve as the communication link between the front-of-house staff and kitchen personnel.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items and preparation methods.
  • Transport trays and dishes efficiently while ensuring safety and cleanliness.
  • Monitor tables to refill drinks and clear used dishes as needed.
  • Provide attentive and courteous service to enhance the dining experience for guests.
  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy work area.
  • Assist servers and kitchen staff with various tasks as required.
  • Present a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all job functions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and integrity.
  • Proficient in English communication, both oral and written.
  • Quick learner with the ability to retain information efficiently.
  • Basic food safety certification required.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Prior experience in a full-service restaurant is preferred.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety protocols.
  • Ability to suggestively sell menu items.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant setting.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The physical demands of this position require the team member to be on their feet for the duration of their shift. Duties may include reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying items up to 50 pounds. The team member will also need to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers. The work environment may involve exposure to various hazards, including cuts, slips, and burns, as well as moderate to loud noise levels.
