OVERVIEW: Conduct maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft to ensure compliance with safety standards. Operates under moderate supervision to acquire skills and execute fundamental tasks related to aircraft upkeep. Progresses through hands-on training to consistently tackle more complex responsibilities and earn increased remuneration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reports directly to the Maintenance Director.
  • Perform repairs, modifications, replacements, or routine maintenance on aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete necessary maintenance documentation accurately or utilize maintenance management software.
  • Effectively communicate with fellow maintenance staff at all levels, keeping them and leadership informed of work status and challenges as they arise.
  • Timely completion of on-the-job training (OJT) documentation and required reading materials.
  • Access and adhere to guidelines outlined in aircraft maintenance manuals.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean work environment and monitor time spent on assigned tasks.
  • Accountable for accurately logging hours worked on tasks and monitoring time management.
  • Perform additional duties as required, such as aircraft movement and customer service, while positively representing PlaneSmart Aviation's maintenance team during inspections by regulatory bodies.
  • QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Exhibit a willingness and capability to learn new skills.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer applications: Microsoft Office, email clients, and maintenance tracking software such as TRAXXAL & CAMPS (preferred).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with maintenance personnel regarding job-related matters.
  • Capable of working with or learning to use basic tools and mechanical systems.
  • Comply with all regulatory standards as per 14 CFR Part 65.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe or Powerplant license REQUIRED.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Desirable 1+ year experience with piston single-engine aircraft, specifically with Continental IO-360, IO-520, & TIO-550 engines.
