Summer Camp Dishwasher and Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Summer Camp Dishwasher and Kitchen Assistant. Job Summary:The Summer Camp Dishwasher and Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our commercial kitchen, as well as assisting with food preparation and service. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and providing an exceptional dining experience for our campers and staff.
Responsibilities:- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Assist with food preparation and service, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, and cooking simple meals.
- Participate in serving food and beverages, as directed.
- Help with cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and dining hall, including sweeping and cleaning floors, walls, and ceilings.
- Sort and remove trash, and clean garbage cans.
- Restock kitchen supplies and notify management when running low on inventory.
- Maintain sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking services, and dishes and utensils.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three months dishwashing experience preferred.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain current SERV Safe Certification.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently, and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain personal cleanliness and adhere to health and safety standards.
This role will require working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with prolonged periods of standing and physical activity. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights is required. The successful candidate will also be required to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
