Role Overview:
The Lead Emergency Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced acute care setting. This role involves overseeing the operational flow of the unit in collaboration with the management team.
Key responsibilities include prioritizing patient care, managing patient flow, staffing, and resource allocation.
The Lead Nurse ensures compliance with established standards and regulations while providing coordinated, compassionate, and evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.Practices in alignment with the Nurse Practice Act and the ethical standards set forth by the American Nurses Association.
Core Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Coordination: Directs patient care activities, provides clinical oversight to nursing staff, and ensures completion of daily departmental tasks.
- Assessment and Planning: Evaluates patient conditions, formulates nursing diagnoses, and develops comprehensive care plans to meet patient goals.
- Advocacy: Champions ethical and holistic care, collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure informed decision-making.
- Education and Mentorship: Acts as a role model and mentor, fostering a learning environment for staff and patients alike.
- Quality and Safety: Engages in performance improvement initiatives, addresses patient and family concerns, and ensures adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Candidates must possess a valid nursing license and relevant certifications upon hire. A minimum of one year of experience in Emergency Department nursing with demonstrated leadership capabilities is essential.
